About the Artist

Lauren Griffin (she/her) is a settler artist from Treaty Six territory, born and raised in a small town just outside of Saskatoon. Growing up on the prairies without a cell phone, Lauren spent much of her childhood reading books and being fascinated by living things. To this day, Lauren considers nature her primary source of creative inspiration.

Lauren is a writer and award-winning actor who has completed a BFA in Drama at the University of Saskatchewan. Before her university training, Lauren participated in the Saskatchewan Drama Association festivals for six years and many youth training camps at Persephone Theatre. You may have seen Lauren recently in Breaking the Curse (directed by Erin Brophy), The Unforgettables (directed by Drew Mantyka), Concord Floral (directed by Natasha Martina), Unity 1918 (directed by Skye Brandon), and Under Milk Wood (directed by Dwayne Brenna). Lauren also performed in Dust and The Hotel, which ranked best overall at Sask Drama Association provincial festivals. When not on stage, you can find Lauren out in the garden or spending time with her cats.
